TIRANA, August 10 – Tradition, history and local cuisine came together at the 7th edition of “Mokra n’Fest”, held near the stone bridge in Golikë, Pogradec.
The festival brought together local residents, visitors and emigrants who returned to their hometowns. An artisan fair and traditional food highlighted local products, including kulaç baked under a saç, lakror, cheese and butter. Local families have passed these recipes down through generations. The event also featured old tools once used in Mokra households. Among them was a stone mill for grinding wheat, which residents say local families have preserved for hundreds of years.
Meanwhile, “Mokra n’Fest” brought together people from Mokra who now live in different parts of the world. The festival created a meeting point for the community and celebrated their shared traditions.
Pogradec Mayor Ilir Xhakolli highlighted the importance of developing the area. He also spoke about completed investments and planned infrastructure projects. Xhakolli said the municipality wants Mokra to develop alongside other areas and noted several investments in Propisht. He added that the municipality plans two or three more projects.
An artistic programme of songs, dances and folk ensembles completed the festival. Sporting activities on the Shkumbin River also formed part of the 7th edition of “Mokra n’Fest”.
