TIRANA, August 27 – More than 19,000 companies with fully foreign or joint foreign capital were registered in Albania by July 2026, according to data from the Albanian Investment Development Agency and the National Business Centre.
The data showed that 19,370 such companies operated in Albania. Of these, 16,093 had 100% foreign capital, while 3,277 had joint capital.
Tirana had the largest concentration, with 12,814 companies, or 66.2% of the total. Durrës followed with 13.4%, while Vlora accounted for 7.8%.
Italian capital had the largest presence among foreign investors. Companies from Kosova, Türkiye, Greece and the United States followed.
Services accounted for the largest share of the companies’ activities, at 41.1%. Wholesale and retail trade followed with 26%. Manufacturing accounted for 9.6%, information and communication for 8.8%, and construction for 7.6%.
AIDA published the figures based on information from the National Business Centre. The data provided an overview of the presence and geographical and sectoral distribution of foreign and joint-capital companies in Albania.
