More than 9.4 million foreign nationals entered Albania in the first eight months of 2026, according to INSTAT. The figure represents a 5.3% increase from the same period in 2025.
In August alone, foreign entries rose 2% year on year. The pace slowed from July, when entries increased 7.1%, but the January-August total remained higher than a year earlier.
Meanwhile, entries by Albanian nationals also increased by 6.2% during the first eight months. In August, total entries by Albanian and foreign nationals rose 2.7% year on year.
INSTAT said the figures come from administrative data provided by the State Police. The statistics measure entries and exits through Albania’s land, sea and air border crossing points. Exits by foreign nationals increased 7.5% in August.
