National libraries of Albania and Hungary establish scientific and professional cooperation

TIRANA, November 4 /ATSH/ – The National Library of Albania and the National Széchényi Library of Hungary have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening professional, scientific and cultural cooperation between the two institutions.

Attending the signing ceremony was Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Lira Pipa and the Ambassador of Hungary to Albania Martina Laura Kasnyik.

The memorandum seeks to create new opportunities for the exchange of publications and professional expertise, the digitization of collections, the development of joint projects and the organization of exhibitions, conferences, and cultural and scientific activities.

A notable feature of this cooperation is the establishment of a “Hungarian Literature Corner” at the National Library of Albania, thanks to a donation of books from the Hungarian side.

This corner represents a concrete step in the development of the partnership between the two institutions and offers Albanian readers a new opportunity to become better acquainted with Hungarian history, literature and culture. The signing of the memorandum aims to strengthen institutional ties between Albania and Hungary, by promoting the exchange of knowledge and enriching the cultural offerings available to the public. /r.e/p.s./
