National Library inspires students and tourists across generations

TIRANA, August 6 – Despite technological developments, social media and wider access to online information, the number of visitors to the National Library’s “Sotir Kolea” Center continues to grow, even during the hot summer days.

The increasing number of visitors shows that the love for books and the need for a quiet space remain strong. During the summer season, young people and children represent the largest group of visitors, especially through summer school programs.

They visit the center to explore its facilities, discover collections and learn about the work carried out at the National Library, including the book restoration laboratory. Children also show particular interest in classical literature, with the library presenting representative works from different periods and editions.

Meanwhile, tourists visiting Tirana have become another important group of visitors at the “Sotir Kolea” Center. They mainly seek Albanological studies, including books, maps and manuscripts, to learn more about Albania and Albanian culture.

The center offers tourists an opportunity to explore the country’s cultural heritage through books and historical materials.

Despite changes in trends and reading habits, books continue to remain an important companion for every generation.
