TIRANA, August 27 – The National Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble Theatre increased its artistic activity during January-July 2026. Revenue from cultural events more than doubled to ALL 19 million, from ALL 9.44 million in the same period of 2025.
The theatre staged 150 events in the first 7 months, up 23% from 122 a year earlier. It also presented 58 premieres, compared with 24 in 2025, marking a 142% increase.
Public interest also grew during the period. The theatre sold about 19,000 tickets, compared with 10,178 a year earlier, an increase of 86.7%. More than 21,000 spectators attended its events, while over 400 artists performed on Albanian and international stages.
The theatre also presented more than 10 performances on international stages during the period. Tourism, Culture and Sports Minister Blendi Gonxhja shared the figures and highlighted the increase in events, premieres, audiences and revenue. He said the theatre’s activity also strengthened Albania’s cultural offering during the tourist season and helped promote Albanian art abroad.
