New Mural in Tirana’s Art Park Pays Tribute to the Women of the Albanian Film Archive

A vibrant new mural dedicated to the women who have worked over the decades at the Central State Film Archive (AQSHF) now graces the Art Park in Tirana.

The Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports completed the artistic project in collaboration with the Central State Film Archive. Consequently, the artwork serves as a heartfelt tribute to the women who have preserved, restored, and enriched Albania’s rich cinematic heritage.

Artists Franko Dine and Klevis Kita created the mural to shine a spotlight on the often unseen efforts of female archivists, technicians, and specialists. Through their work, these women safeguard one of the nation’s most vital audiovisual memories.

Ultimately, this project highlights the essential contribution of women in protecting the history of Albanian cinema, transforming an open-air public space into a celebration of cultural preservation.
