New road in Rrilë gives tourism a boost in Lezhë

Tale in Lezhë has long attracted tourists. Each year, more visitors arrive. Therefore, authorities moved to improve access.

The government backed a municipal project. It built a new road linking Rrilë and the Tale Hydrovore with the Lezhë–Tirana highway. The road stretches 6.3 km. It follows modern standards. It includes bike lanes. It also has sidewalks on both sides. In addition, workers added decorative elements.

Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected the road. Mayor Pjerin Ndreu joined him. Meanwhile, local residents gathered nearby. They welcomed the investment.

Ndreu praised the project. He said the road improves access to Tale. He also said it increases property values. Moreover, he noted it creates a new reality for the community. He described the road as 10 meters wide. He highlighted the bike lanes and sidewalks. Furthermore, he stressed that tourism is Lezhë’s main industry. He thanked the government for its support.

Rama suggested further improvements. He called for more greenery along the road. In this way, he said, the axis can become a true tourist route.

At the same time, authorities continued water infrastructure works. They launched a major water supply and sewage project. The plan includes a new water system in Kodër-Marlekaj. It will serve about 5,000 residents. In addition, crews will rehabilitate stormwater and sewage networks. As a result, officials aim to solve flooding problems.

Engineers explained the first phase. The KfW-funded project has five components. First, crews will build water systems for Kakarriq and Gocaj. About 3,000 residents will get 24-hour water. Next, teams will upgrade the wastewater treatment plant. Then, they will build the Kodër-Marlekaj system. Finally, they will rehabilitate sewage and rainwater networks.

Overall, these investments improve infrastructure. They also raise quality of life. Consequently, authorities expect stronger tourism and economic growth in Lezhë.
