More than 17,000 textbooks will be distributed to Albanian children in the Diaspora during the new 2026–2027 school year. The announcement was made by Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha through a video message.
According to the minister, more than 5,700 educational packages have been planned for students in 15 European countries, as well as in the United States and Canada.
The joint textbooks cover the subjects “Albanian Language” and “Albanian Culture” and are intended for the first, second, and third levels.
“We will do our utmost to meet 100 percent of the requests,” Hoxha said, highlighting cooperation with the Diaspora Publishing Center and the Ministry of Education.
A new development for this school year is the inclusion of the third level, which, according to the minister, represents an important step toward consolidating a complete cycle of joint textbooks for the Diaspora.
Meanwhile, Albanian diplomatic missions are updating data on the actual number of students, the levels they attend, teachers, and the addresses where the textbooks will be distributed.
Minister Hoxha called on Albanian parents and teachers in the Diaspora to follow the announcements and guidelines issued by Albanian embassies and diplomatic missions in the countries where they live, in order to stay informed in real time.
According to the authorities, preserving and learning the Albanian language remains one of the key elements in safeguarding Albanian identity and heritage among younger generations in the Diaspora.
