TIRANA, September 7 – A new statue of Mother Teresa was unveiled at Saint Paul Cathedral in Tirana on Sunday, marking the 10th anniversary of her canonization. Archbishop of Tirana-Durres Arjan Dodaj and dozens of citizens attended the ceremony.
The statue stands in the cathedral courtyard and depicts Mother Teresa with one hand raised in a gesture of blessing. The new monument adds another symbol of remembrance and tribute to the Albanian saint.
Archbishop Arjan Dodaj and Apostolic Nuncio to Albania Miroslav Adamczyk led the ceremony. Many citizens also joined the event to honour Mother Teresa and her work.
The unveiling once again highlighted Mother Teresa as a symbol of love, dedication to people in need, peace and solidarity. Her legacy continues to hold a prominent place in Albania and beyond.
Mother Teresa remains one of the most important figures of Albanian origin and a global symbol of humanitarian service. The 10th anniversary of her canonization has also been marked by commemorative and religious activities in Albania and elsewhere.
