Nufi Meets Senior Pentagon Official: Strong Commitment to Peace, Stability, and Collective Defense

Defense Minister Ermal Nufi met senior Pentagon official Elbridge A. Colby in Washington today.

During the meeting, the two officials exchanged views on the strategic challenges shaping the Euro-Atlantic security environment.

Nufi emphasized that the partnership between Albania and the United States is built on shared values, mutual trust, and a strong commitment to peace, stability, and collective defense.

He stated that close coordination among allies remains essential in an increasingly complex security environment. As a result, such cooperation helps protect shared interests and strengthen transatlantic security.

Furthermore, the defense minister highlighted Albania’s deep appreciation for the leadership and continued support of the United States. He also reaffirmed the country’s commitment to its responsibilities as a reliable ally within NATO.

Finally, Nufi stressed that Albania will continue to contribute to a stronger, safer, and more united Alliance.
