Osmani Meets Costa, Focus on Kosovo’s Steps Toward European Integration

Former Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani met with the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, on Wednesday as part of his visit to Pristina.

Osmani emphasized that their meeting focused on the steps Kosovo needs to take in order to move forward on its path toward European integration.

“It was a pleasure to meet today in Pristina with the President of the European Council, Mr. Antonio Costa.

During this highly positive meeting, we discussed the steps we will take to ensure that Kosovo moves forward toward European integration, through obtaining EU candidate status and implementing the Growth Plan.

Kosovo belongs where it deserves to be — among the free nations of Europe. To achieve this, it needs stable and responsible institutions that choose the Euro-Atlantic path under all circumstances,” Osmani wrote.

The meeting took place during Costa’s regional tour of the Western Balkans, where discussions have focused on EU enlargement, regional cooperation, and the implementation of reforms required for closer integration with the European Union.
