Over 1,000 apply for Grant 2026 as startup interest grows across Albania

TIRANA, July 13 – More than 1,000 entrepreneurs and innovators have applied for the Grant 2026 programme, showing growing interest in startups across Albania, according to the Agency for Media and Information.

The agency said the applications reflect stronger engagement from young innovators and entrepreneurs who want to turn business ideas into successful ventures.

Tirana leads with 924 applications. Meanwhile, Shkodër follows with 88 applications. Durrës has 63, Vlora 30 and Fier 22. Elbasan and Korça each recorded 18 applications. Gjirokastër received 16, Berat 13, Lezha and Kukës 10 each, while Dibër registered 7 applications.

The figures show that startup activity continues to expand beyond the capital.

Grant 2026 supports startups with growth potential and innovative technology projects. The programme encourages new businesses and promotes a modern, competitive economy driven by innovation.

In addition, the application figures highlight growing interest in entrepreneurship throughout the country. They also point to broader opportunities for young entrepreneurs and emerging businesses.

The programme aims to help innovators develop promising ideas into successful businesses and strengthen Albania’s innovation ecosystem.
