Over 2 million passengers travelled through Albania’s airport and ports in July

TIRANA, August 5 – Albania recorded another strong tourism month in July. Passenger flows increased during the peak summer season. More than 2.05 million passengers used Tirana International Airport “Mother Teresa” and the country’s main ports.

Meanwhile, data from the Media and Information Agency (MIA) shows that Tirana International Airport handled more than 1.8 million passengers in July. The airport recorded the largest share of passenger traffic. The Port of Durrës registered around 111,000 passengers, while the Port of Saranda recorded 131,000 passengers and the Port of Vlora around 17,000 passengers.

In addition, the figures highlight the rise in travel activity during the summer season. They also show the strong performance of Albania’s tourism sector. The total number of travellers could be higher, as the data does not include movements through land border crossing points.
