Parliament approves 4 bills and agreements

The Albanian Parliament approved all items on the agenda during today’s plenary session. It passed four key agreements and legislative acts.

Lawmakers ratified Protocol No. 7 of CEFTA. The protocol covers dispute settlement in trade agreements. It passed with 87 votes in favor.

Parliament also approved a financing agreement between the Albanian government and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A. The deal will improve the electricity transmission network in northern Albania after the 2019 earthquake. It passed with 74 votes.

In addition, MPs approved the “Green Vjosa” technical cooperation agreement with Germany. It supports green and sustainable development in the Vjosa National Park area. It passed with 88 votes.

Lawmakers also approved Albania’s accession to the UN agreement on the conservation of straddling and highly migratory fish stocks. This vote also passed with 88 votes.

Finally, Parliament elected Denar Biba as chair of the Competition Authority Commission. The decision passed with 73 votes.
