Parliament approves EU integration resolution with support from majority and opposition

The Albanian Parliament approved today the resolution on Albania’s European Union membership process.

Lawmakers passed the resolution with 114 votes in favor and one abstention.

The ruling majority and the opposition joined votes to support the resolution. Meanwhile, Democratic Party MP Bujar Leskaj abstained.

The resolution calls for broad cooperation and joint commitment to advance Albania’s EU membership process.

Furthermore, it stresses the need for inclusive political and social dialogue. The goal is to secure national consensus on European priorities.

Through this resolution, the Albanian Parliament commits to strengthening its role in accelerating Albania’s accession to the European Union.

In addition, the ruling majority pledged to ensure the opposition’s full participation in parliamentary activity. It also committed to respecting opposition requests in line with democratic standards, the Constitution and parliamentary rules.

Meanwhile, the opposition pledged to fully participate in parliamentary activity according to democratic standards, the Constitution and parliamentary rules.

Finally, both sides committed to strengthening political dialogue.
