The Albanian Parliament organized the promotion of the publication “Parliamentary Committees of Albania over the Years (1920–2025)” on the occasion of International Book Day. The event was held by the Parliamentary Library and Publications Service and brought together academics, deputies, and students.
Participants included Prof. Dr. Teki Kurti, Prof. Dr. Artur Ribaj, MP Greta Bardeli, members of the Parliamentary Research Secretariat, and students from the Mediterranean University.
In her speech, Greta Bardeli emphasized the importance of books in education and especially for students. She said parliamentary publications support transparency, accountability, and democratic culture. She also described them as a bridge between institutions and the public.
The new publication documents the historical development of parliamentary committees from 1920 to 2025. It builds a chronological record of how committees have functioned in different legislatures. It also lists members, structural changes, and political groupings over time.
Prof. Dr. Teki Kurti said the book provides a detailed historical overview of committee development and parliamentary evolution in Albania.
Prof. Dr. Artur Ribaj highlighted the role of parliamentary publications in improving transparency and attracting investment. He said better information supports governance and creates a more stable environment for economic development.
The head of the Parliamentary Library Service, Lidra Bushati, said the publication aims to preserve institutional history and provide detailed information on parliamentary organization and activity. She added that it serves as a valuable resource for students and researchers in law, history, and political science.
