Peleshi: 92% of Albanians Support EU Membership

Albania leads the Western Balkans in public support for European Union membership. Data from the European Commission shows very high levels of backing for EU integration.

Speaker of Parliament Niko Peleshi stated that Albanians remain among the strongest supporters of the European project. He emphasized that 92% of citizens support Albania’s EU membership.

Moreover, he highlighted that this support reflects trust in security, stability, and economic development. In addition, he said that this high level of public backing strengthens the country’s commitment to continue reforms.

Meanwhile, the data show that Kosovo records 83% support, while other countries in the region have lower levels. For example, Serbia reports the lowest support at 31%.

Finally, Albania continues its negotiations with the EU and aims to accelerate reforms toward full membership.
