Speaker of the Albanian Parliament Niko Peleshi met today with Anja Karliczek, Chair of the German Bundestag’s Parliamentary Committee on Tourism. He also welcomed members of the German delegation visiting Albania.
During the meeting, both sides praised the strong political and economic ties between Albania and Germany. They also highlighted the intensive parliamentary cooperation between the Albanian Parliament and the Bundestag at all levels.
Particular attention focused on the German delegation’s active participation in the Interparliamentary Conference on EU Enlargement and Albania’s Accession. The conference took place in Tirana a day earlier.
According to Peleshi, the delegation’s participation offered further evidence of Germany’s strong partnership with Albania. He also highlighted Germany’s continued support for Albania’s European integration process.
In a social media post after the meeting, Peleshi stressed Germany’s support for Albania’s development, democratisation, and European integration. He said this support, based on merit, continues to encourage Albanian institutions as the country works towards full EU membership within this decade.
