Peleshi Meets Schellenberger: Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation with Germany

Speaker of the Albanian Parliament Niko Peleshi held a meeting with Gunnar Schellenberger, President of the Parliament of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, focusing on strengthening parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

First, the two sides discussed expanding institutional relations and increasing cooperation in key areas such as economy, education, culture, and technology.

Next, Peleshi highlighted the potential of Albanian cities, especially Korça, to deepen cooperation with German partners through education, innovation, and cultural exchange.

In addition, he said local institutions and communities can play an important role in strengthening ties between Albania and Germany.

Furthermore, Peleshi expressed gratitude for Germany’s continued support in Albania’s EU integration process and its contribution to democratic reforms.

Finally, both sides emphasized that closer cooperation between parliaments and institutions strengthens bilateral relations and brings citizens, businesses, and governments closer together.
