Pensions increased by over 70% for some categories since 2013

TIRANA, June 29 – Around 900,000 pensioners will benefit from a new 2.7% pension indexation starting from July 1. The decision was approved at the latest government meeting.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu said the measure is part of the government’s ongoing policies to support pensioners. She made the statement in a social media post.

In addition, Koçiu said this is another step in supporting pensioners. She confirmed that the new 2.7% indexation will take effect from July 1.

She also said pensions have recorded steady growth since 2013. According to her, increases have reached over 70% for some categories of beneficiaries.

At the same time, she said the government will continue to implement concrete policies in support of citizens who contributed for many years to the country’s development.

Finally, Koçiu said the policy is part of a long-term process that started in 2013. She said the government will continue to support pensioners through targeted measures.
