TIRANA, April 27 – Prime Minister Edi Rama on Monday held a joint meeting with the government cabinet and the ruling Socialist Party parliamentary group, with European Union integration placed at the center of discussions.
The meeting took place at the Palace of Brigades in Tirana. Officials said the agenda also addressed governance issues and internal party organisation.
The session opened with a briefing from parliamentary group leader Taulant Balla. He presented updates from field meetings conducted by government members and Socialist Party MPs in their respective constituencies.
Balla also reported on the ongoing internal electoral process within the Socialist Party, according to the agenda.
Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha and chief negotiator Majlinda Dhuka then briefed participants on Albania’s progress in the EU accession process. They focused on the country’s overall negotiation path and next steps.
The meeting also included a question-and-answer session directed at the foreign minister and the chief negotiator.
Earlier, the government submitted to parliament a report on the progress of Albania’s EU accession process.
