PM Rama congratulates the United States on Independence Day, calls July 4 a shared celebration for Albanians

TIRANA, July 4 – Prime Minister Edi Rama has extended his congratulations to the United States of America on the occasion of July 4, Independence Day.

He said July 4 is also a special celebration for Albanians. He highlighted the historic ties and friendship between the two countries.

Rama referred to the Statue of Liberty as a symbolic landmark shared in meaning for both nations. He said it stands under “magnificent symbolism” despite historical challenges that, as he noted, have tried to weaken its spirit.

The United States is marking the 250th anniversary of Independence Day. The Declaration of Independence was signed on July 4, 1776. Thirteen North American colonies declared independence from the United Kingdom.

The document remains a key reference for strong democracy, the rule of law, and the protection of individual rights and freedoms.
