Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania’s national flag has reached a higher standing internationally than ever before. He made the remarks during his visit to New York, where he is attending the United Nations General Assembly.
In a post on X, Rama said his mission to take the national flag to “the top of a united Europe” would continue. He also said Albania now has an institutional system that can act against corruption within its own institutions. Rama described this as a major achievement and one of the results of his political mission.
Rama said Albania had changed from the country it once was and linked this change to his government’s justice reforms. He argued that the reforms had strengthened equality before the law and created a system that can fight corruption.
The Prime Minister also said the European Union increasingly values Albania’s efforts in this area. Rama added that criticism over corruption would not stop the country’s institutional reforms or its efforts to advance towards European Union membership.
