TIRANA, September 3 – Prime Minister Edi Rama received the Student Council of the Faculty of History and Philology at the University of Prishtina for a discussion on the role of politics and the importance of civic engagement.
Rama said politics offers an opportunity to bring people together and advance issues that individuals cannot address alone. He described political engagement as a way for people to make their voices heard and achieve shared goals.
One student thanked Rama for the initiative to open an Albanian consulate in the Presheva Valley. The student described the move as necessary for Albanians living in the area.
Meanwhile, Rama said the planned Albanian consulate in the Presheva Valley and Serbia’s consulate in Shkoder have different significance. He noted that the two areas have different demographic realities.
During the meeting, Rama also recommended a book on leadership by former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. He said the book offers insights into how different leaders and personalities think in different contexts.
At the end of the meeting, the students thanked Rama for receiving them and giving them an opportunity to be heard. The prime minister invited them to maintain communication and encouraged them to apply for Albania’s diplomatic service.
