PM Rama: Next NATO Summit to take place in Tirana

TIRANA, July 8 – Prime Minister Edi Rama announced on Wednesday that the next NATO Summit will take place in Tirana, following the conclusion of the Alliance’s meeting in Ankara.

PM dismissed speculation that Albania would not host the summit. He said the country had moved beyond a time when others made decisions on its behalf. Albania now delivers on its commitments and stands by its word, he added.

Earlier, Rama joined leaders of the 32 NATO member states in Ankara for talks on the Alliance’s security priorities. The summit also brought together senior representatives from partner countries.

Meanwhile, leaders discussed higher defence spending, stronger military capabilities and closer security cooperation. They also reviewed Europe’s defence readiness, NATO investment targets and continued support for Ukraine.

The prime minister’s participation highlighted Albania’s commitment to collective defence. In addition, it reinforced the country’s role as an active and reliable NATO ally.
