TIRANA, September 3 – Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that “Prania Besnike” (Committed Presence) will take place every Friday at 17:00 across Albania. He said the initiative aims to make listening to citizens a condition and responding to their concerns an institutional duty.
Speaking to the Socialist Party parliamentary group and the government cabinet, Rama said “Committed Presence” should not serve as an electoral or organisational calendar. Instead, he presented it as part of a system designed to strengthen relations between citizens, political representatives and state institutions.
Meanwhile, Rama said the BESA concept represents trust, empathy, service and commitment. He called on representatives to apply these principles in every contact with citizens.
The initiative will publish a calendar showing citizens where and when they can meet their representatives. These meetings will focus on individual concerns and will not function as party gatherings.
At the same time, Rama said the meetings would not use cameras. Participants would also decide whether officials could take photographs at the beginning of each meeting. The initiative will remain open to citizens regardless of their political affiliation.
Rama also said representatives should not seek solutions through personal contacts with institutional directors. Instead, they should submit citizens’ concerns in writing through official channels and follow legal procedures.
He said the system should discipline institutions rather than turn lawmakers into intermediaries for citizens’ problems.
