PM Rama renews call for dialogue: I am ready to sit down with those who believe in humanity

Prime Minister Edi Rama renewed his call for dialogue on Friday, once again placing invitations on the concrete benches outside the Prime Minister’s Office and urging talks.

Rama said he was ready to sit down with anyone who believes in dialogue and in the possibility of making Albania a better country through the exchange of views, regardless of differences.

“I am ready, anywhere, at any place, at any time, to meet with those who believe that Albania must become better and that Albania becomes better through humanity, through the exchange and confrontation of views, however opposing they may be.

Violent opposition, opposition through force, opposition that defies the very foundations of reason, cannot override the necessity for dialogue, for the confrontation of views, however opposing they may be, and for democratic coexistence in a country where the past has no chance of returning.

And those who took the capital hostage by importing ANTIFA terror here, playing into the hands of others in the name of students, and placing themselves at the forefront of the students with their faces covered, must know that they will be held accountable.

They will be held legally accountable, they will face criminal responsibility, according to the severity of the violations committed and the extent of this grave misunderstanding.

The great misunderstanding is to think that you can impose your will on an entire people, on an entire community, on ordinary families in this country who want to go to work, through the language of stones and fire.

It is a very serious misunderstanding that will turn into a very important lesson for anyone who believed that, through this misunderstanding, they could change Albania’s course.

Albania’s course will not change. Albania will continue moving forward, and Albania will carry the flag of Ismail Qemali and Skanderbeg to that long-dreamed-of summit.

And Albania will become part of the European Union, something that the forces involved in this great wrongdoing will not be able to prevent,” Rama said.
