TIRANA, May 15 – Prime Minister Edi Rama thanked Estonia for its support to Albania’s EU accession process during a joint press conference with Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal. He said Albania expects to move quickly to the next phase of negotiations.
Rama said Albania will continue work on closing negotiation chapters. Economic ties between the two countries are growing. He pointed to direct flights and said the number of Estonian visitors has tripled since 2023.
He also expressed hope that the direct flight season will be extended. He invited Estonian tourists to visit Albania during winter as well as summer.
Meanwhile, Rama said Albania wants Estonian technology innovators to engage with the country’s ICT sector. Cooperation should expand in information and communication technology.
He thanked the Estonian delegation for the visit. He said Albania values cooperation and looks forward to further joint work.
