PM Rama shares footage of Corridor VIII tunnel construction in Librazhd

TIRANA, Nov. 7 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama has shared footage of ongoing construction work on tunnels along the Corridor VIII route in the Librazhd area, describing the project as part of Albania’s ongoing infrastructure development.

The video, posted on social media on Saturday, shows progress at the construction sites.

“Here are the Corridor VIII tunnels in Librazhd, construction sites that never stop in the new European Albania that never stops,” Rama wrote.

Corridor VIII is a strategic road and rail infrastructure project linking Italy, Albania, North Macedonia and Bulgaria, forming a major transport connection across the region.

The corridor connects with other major road networks and Corridors IV and IX. It has also been part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) since Dec. 1, 2022.

Its inclusion in NATO’s strategic transport and security planning gives Albania an important role in regional connectivity and the wider Euro-Atlantic security architecture.
