TIRANA, June 27 – Prime Minister Edi Rama took part in the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Gdańsk, Poland, which brings together heads of state and government, international financial institutions, business representatives and civil society organisations from around the world. The conference aims to strengthen international support for Ukraine and mobilise investment for reconstruction and long-term development.
Meanwhile, Rama addressed the second plenary session of the conference. He said Ukraine must secure peace with the same determination it shows in defending its freedom. He said Ukraine is rebuilding itself while defending its sovereignty. He added that Albania supports this effort.
In addition, Rama linked Ukraine’s reconstruction with the European integration of the Western Balkans. He said both processes reinforce each other. He said they contribute to a more complete and resilient Europe. Furthermore, he said reconstruction is not charity. He said it is a strategic process. He added that it goes beyond repairing destruction and focuses on building a democratic and resilient Ukraine.
In conclusion, Rama said Ukraine is rebuilding Europe’s courage. He also said Europe must help rebuild Ukraine’s future. The conference focuses on energy, critical infrastructure and logistics. It also addresses security and defence capacity building as key elements of reconstruction.
