Police urge students and parents to stay away from violence as protests enter their third day

On the third day of protests, the State Police has urged pupils and parents to stay away from violence. It warned against involvement in situations that could endanger life and health.

In a public message, police called on young people to leave areas where clashes are taking place. Parents were also urged to take steps to ensure their children’s safety. Police stressed that officers remain on the ground to maintain public order and security.

“Dear pupils, dear parents! We urge you to remain calm and stay away from all acts of violence!

Dear pupils, do not engage in violent acts that put your lives, health and future at risk. Do not let anyone draw you into dangerous situations. Leave immediately any area where violence is taking place.

A special appeal to parents: take care of your children! Advise them to stay away from any violent situations. Their safety is a shared responsibility. The State Police is on the ground to maintain public order, peace and security, and to protect the life and health of every citizen.

Please, let us work together!” the police statement said.

Pupils and students boycotted classes on Thursday to join the protests. Demonstrations took place in Tirana and several other cities across the country.
