TIRANA, August 7 – Albania’s Electricity Distribution System Operator (OSHEE) has strengthened technical and operational measures to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in Lezha and Shëngjin during the summer tourist season through investments in the distribution network.
Speaking from the reconstructed Lezha substation, OSSH engineer Marjo Lajthia said the investments have increased the capacity and reliability of the electricity network in one of the country’s busiest summer destinations.
Lajthia said OSSH upgraded the network from 10 kilovolts to 20 kilovolts under its seasonal action plan for coastal areas. He added that the upgrade has significantly improved the quality of electricity supply.
Meanwhile, OSSH also invested in electricity substations to strengthen supply security and reduce the risk of outages during the peak consumption period.
Lajthia said the company has deployed a 24-hour standby team in Shëngjin to respond rapidly to any technical fault. He added that customers can also contact the local dispatch center and the central Call Center for assistance.
According to OSSH, Shëngjin has not experienced any electricity supply problems so far this summer. The company said the measures and investments have ensured stable service for residents, businesses and tourists throughout the holiday season.
