TIRANA, April 2 – The Presidency confirmed today that all national security institutions are closely monitoring developments following recent tensions in the Middle East. The statement comes after the US Embassy in Tirana issued a message to American citizens, prompting media inquiries about the National Security Council’s activities.
In a press briefing, the President’s Office emphasized that the National Security Council acts as an advisory body. It supports the President in exercising constitutional and legal powers but does not make decisions on the issues it reviews. The Council brings together senior leaders from key state institutions to assess potential threats and recommend measures to protect the country.
President Bajram Begaj remains in daily contact with the Council and receives constant updates on scenarios, responses, and security measures. According to the Presidency, all relevant institutions remain vigilant, with executive security mechanisms fully active and operational.
