TIRANA, August 26 – President Bajram Begaj received the credentials of Belgium’s ambassador to Albania, Olga Cogen, during a meeting in Tirana today.
Begaj welcomed Belgium’s decision to open its first embassy in Albania, with its headquarters in Tirana. The move marks a new step in diplomatic relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations. They also highlighted shared European values, close political dialogue and cooperation within NATO and other international organisations.
Meanwhile, Begaj praised Belgium’s continued support for Albania’s European integration process. He stressed that membership of the European Union remains a priority for Albania.
The Albanian president also assured Ambassador Cogen that his institution and other Albanian institutions would support her diplomatic mission in Albania.
