TIRANA, September 3 – President Bajram Begaj received Switzerland’s new ambassador to Albania, Siri Walt, who presented her credentials. Begaj expressed confidence that her mandate would further strengthen bilateral relations.
The meeting covered cooperation in governance, economic development, education, healthcare, local government and environmental protection. Begaj thanked Switzerland for its continued support for Albania’s development and highlighted its investments in rural areas.
Meanwhile, the president welcomed increased Swiss investment and business activity in Albania. The two sides also discussed the Albanian diaspora in Switzerland and its role in strengthening ties between the two countries.
Walt reaffirmed Switzerland’s support for Albania’s European integration. She highlighted the Swiss Cooperation Programme for 2026-2028, which focuses on good governance, sustainable economic development, social inclusion, public services and infrastructure.
