TIRANA, May 11 – Prime Minister Edi Rama announced the creation of a new state-owned digital technology company, Albanian Digital Solution, aimed at strengthening innovation and digital public services in Albania.
He made the announcement during a press conference with Reida Kashta, chief negotiator for Chapter 5 on Public Procurement and Director General of the Public Procurement Agency, where he presented progress in public procurement reforms and EU accession negotiations.
At the same time, Rama said the new company will operate separately from the National Agency for Information Society. He described it as a key structure for advancing digital services and supporting the ongoing transformation of public administration.
He also said the company will remain 100% state-owned. It will focus on recruiting top technology specialists from the market. In addition, it will offer salaries higher than those in the private sector to attract talent.
Meanwhile, Rama explained that the new structure aims to position the state as a leading force in the technology sector. He said it will both drive digital innovation and support broader government transformation across public services.
He added that Albanian Digital Solution will strengthen state capacity in digital development and accelerate the modernization of public services through technology.
