Prison System Modernization Discussed in US Embassy Meeting

Adriatik Kupi welcomed a delegation from the United States Embassy in Tirana during an introductory meeting held at the General Directorate of Prisons.

During the meeting, the US representatives praised the cooperative approach of the prison administration. They also highlighted the importance of continued institutional cooperation in support of reforms and standards in the penitentiary system.

Meanwhile, Kupi stressed the value of partnership with international institutions, especially the United States.

He said cooperation with the American embassy remains important for the modernization and strengthening of Albania’s prison system.

In addition, Kupi confirmed his commitment to deepening cooperation to improve conditions and standards in correctional institutions across the country.

The meeting also reaffirmed support for ongoing reforms and capacity-building efforts in Albania’s penitentiary system.
