TIRANA, August 10 – Problem loans in Albania’s banking system fell again in June. They accounted for 3.7% of total lending, down from 3.77% in May. According to Bank of Albania statistics, this marks the lowest level since 2007.
The ratio also fell by 0.31 percentage points from June 2025. The decline continues the positive trend in problem loans.
Businesses still have a higher problem-loan ratio than individuals. However, their ratio fell by 0.5% during 2025. Individuals recorded the stronger repayment performance, with their problem-loan ratio reaching 2.6% at the end of 2025, down from 2.9% a year earlier.
Meanwhile, businesses recorded a ratio of 4.7% at the end of 2025. The figure stood at 5.2% at the end of 2024.
