TIRANA, August 6 – Albania’s property revaluation scheme has saved taxpayers €120.5 million in fiscal costs during the first seven months of 2026, according to the General Directorate of Taxation.
The scheme allows property owners to revalue real estate by paying a reduced 5% tax rate. Tax authorities said the measure continues to offer significant financial benefits to both individuals and businesses.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Taxation encouraged taxpayers who have not yet used the scheme to apply before the legal deadline. Authorities said the process helps owners update the official value of their properties and benefit from tax relief provided by law.
The revaluation also reduces the tax burden during property transfers and other real estate transactions. In addition, the scheme benefits owners who plan to sell their property and those whose registered property value remains below current market prices.
The tax administration confirmed that applications for property revaluation will remain open until December 31, 2026.
