Public beach areas remain accessible in Jala Beach in Himara

TIRANA, June 11 – Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja shared images from Jala Beach in Himara, highlighting the public beach areas available to visitors.

Inspection teams from the National Coastline Agency carried out field monitoring along the beach. The checks confirmed that public beach spaces remained available and accessible to holidaymakers. The inspections also found no restrictions affecting public use of those areas.

However, inspectors identified one case of non-compliance involving a private operator. The operator cooperated with the inspection team and immediately cleared the shared public space. As a result, authorities restored the conditions required under beach regulations.
Meanwhile, Gonxhja said the National Coastline Agency will continue monitoring the coastline to ensure free public access and compliance with existing legislation.

For this purpose, the agency’s central inspection team has launched a series of controls in cooperation with regional directorates, municipal teams and the State Police. The inspections focus on the implementation of beach regulations, respect for public beach parcels and compliance with other operational requirements.
The National Coastline Agency also reiterated that public coastal areas remain available for citizens. Any unauthorised occupation of those spaces will face the measures provided under current legislation.
