The urban bus fleet is expected to return to normal operations starting today, following a meeting between the Urban and Interurban Transport Association and government representatives.
Infrastructure Minister Enea Karakaçi and Economy Minister Delina Ibrahimaj attended the meeting. According to transport representatives, the parties reached an agreement to subsidize public transport by 50 lek per liter of fuel.
However, the period during which the subsidy will apply has yet to be determined. Discussions are ongoing to decide whether the measure will cover June, July and August, or July, August and September.
Following this development, urban transport operators are expected to resume services at full capacity, bringing an end to the problems that have affected bus fleet operations in recent days.
