Radman: Croatia Will Continue to Support Albania’s EU Membership Bid

Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman praised Albania’s progress toward European Union membership and pledged Croatia’s continued support.

Speaking alongside Albania’s Foreign Minister Ferit Hoxha, Radman said Albania and Croatia enjoy strong and friendly relations built on trust, shared values, and their NATO alliance.

He said regular high-level meetings reflect the excellent cooperation between the two countries.

“Albania has waited long enough to join the European Union. We believe the time has come,” Radman said.

He added that Albania and Croatia will mark 35 years of diplomatic relations next year, creating an opportunity to strengthen their partnership even further.

Radman also congratulated Albania on its progress in the accession talks. He said the provisional closure of negotiating Chapters 25, 26, and 30 marks an important milestone on Albania’s path to EU membership.

He also welcomed Albania’s full alignment with the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy. Radman encouraged Albania to maintain the current pace of reforms.

He said Albania’s achievements show that the EU enlargement process rewards countries that meet the required criteria.

“Albania has made impressive progress and is moving ahead based on its own merits. Croatia will continue to support Albania throughout the accession process,” he said.

Radman added that Croatia will continue to share its experience, strengthen institutional capacities, and provide technical assistance whenever needed.

He expressed confidence that Albania’s efforts will lead to full EU membership.
