Prime Minister Edi Rama said today that artificial intelligence speeds up Albania’s EU integration by making public administration more efficient. He made the statement at the Ruhr Summit in Germany, where he presented Albania’s vision for using AI in governance.
First, he said AI strengthens state capacity by making institutions smarter instead of expanding bureaucracy. He explained that EU accession requires Albania to adopt thousands of pages of EU legislation and complex administrative rules.
He said Albania works with OpenAI to use AI tools that process legal documentation faster and more accurately. However, he stressed that AI does not take political decisions and does not replace human negotiators.
Finally, he said AI reduces administrative delays and strengthens institutional capacity, which makes EU integration faster and more efficient.
