Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania’s economic growth reflects the country’s broader transformation.
Speaking at the Socialist Party’s 35th anniversary event in Durrës, Rama said Albania’s economic output has increased from less than 10 billion euros to 27 billion euros.
He said the average salary has reached 912 euros. The average salary in the public sector now stands at 1,086 euros.
Rama added that public debt has fallen below 50 percent. He said state revenues have increased without raising taxes.
He also noted that bank lending has reached 10 billion euros. Non-performing loans have dropped from 25 percent to 3 percent.
Rama said foreign direct investment has also grown strongly. He noted that annual investment rose from around 300 to 400 million euros in earlier years to more than 1 billion euros last year.
He said Albania will continue on its path of economic transformation.
