In his speech, Rama praised the relations between the two countries, emphasizing the historical ties between Albanians and Jewish people, as well as the current cooperation in the field of cybersecurity defense.

“For me, it is always good news when a Jewish person comes to our country. I want to thank everyone involved in organizing this event because the more I get to know Israel, the more I understand that it is not easy to bring many Israelis together. We strongly believe in the relationship between our two countries, not only because of our history, created during the darkest times for the Jewish people. Albanian Muslims treated Jewish people as brothers and sisters and risked their own lives to protect them,” Rama said.

The Prime Minister recalled that Albanians sheltered and protected Jewish people during some of the darkest periods of their history, stressing that this relationship remains strong even today.

Speaking about cybersecurity, Rama stated that Albania understood its importance “in the hardest possible way,” following cyberattacks linked to the Iranian regime. According to him, these attacks came after Albania hosted thousands of Iranian opposition members for humanitarian reasons.

He said the attacks targeted Albania’s online public service system, which, according to him, has digitized 95% of public services through online platforms.

“We declared Iran a terrorist state, but today we have a different level of cybersecurity protection thanks to cooperation with Israel and Israeli talent,” Rama stated.

In conclusion, the head of government emphasized that Albania remains a country without antisemitism and that Jewish people are always welcome in the country.

“For Jewish people, Albania is home, and we want it to remain that way,” he declared.
