Prime Minister Edi Rama took part in the eighth edition of the European Corporate Council, where he focused in his remarks on the importance of peace, economic development and creating opportunities for future generations.
Rama described his participation in the forum as a “special honour and privilege”, praising its role in bringing together ideas, knowledge and experience from different sources.
“I want to say that it is a special honour and privilege to join you. This platform, created to bring together knowledge coming from unexpected sources, also demonstrates something very important,” the Prime Minister said.
During his speech, Rama stressed that peace should not be regarded simply as a diplomatic outcome, but as an essential factor in creating the conditions for economic development.
“Peace is not a diplomatic achievement that precedes economic development, but a political condition that makes economic development possible,” he said.
The Prime Minister also addressed responsibility towards future generations, linking progress to the opportunities left to those who come after us.
“We should not forget that the true measure of progress is the horizon of opportunities we leave to those who come after us. And for everyone who comes after us, that horizon of opportunity is not only our own country, but our shared world. There is so much that we need to understand and discuss with one another, and there is so much wisdom out there that Europe has not yet managed to absorb and put into practice,” Rama said.
