Rama claims protests were planned months in advance and funded by organized crime and foreign sources

Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a statement on social media that the protests taking place in Tirana for the past 10 days have been financed by organized crime and money coming from abroad through foreign forces.

According to Rama, police have evidence that the protests had been planned for several months, including the importation of masks and explosives and the organization of groups on social media.

“The escalation had been planned for months. Police have information about the importation of masks and explosive materials through customs. They also have information about the organization of groups as part of Antifa.

Police have also identified those involved, or more precisely, some of those who participated in this violence, which was financed by organized crime and money coming from abroad.

And undoubtedly, the icing on the cake is the Democratic Party, which yesterday claimed responsibility for initiating the violence at the Ministry of Education,” Rama said.
