The Socialist Party will hold an expanded meeting of its parliamentary group on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Palace of Brigades, according to sources cited by Euronews Albania journalist Eksiola Shehu.
Members of Parliament were informed about the meeting only a short time ago.
The gathering comes at a sensitive political moment, as citizen protests have been taking place for several days against the proposed development project in Zvërnec and the amendments to the law on protected areas.
The meeting is also being held at a time when the ruling majority is facing the departure of one of its MPs, Marjana Koçeku, who headed the Socialist Party’s list in Shkodër.
The event marks the return of the Socialist parliamentary group’s monthly meetings, which have not been held since April. The last meeting of the group took place in April, and the Socialists are now returning to their regular format of political consultations.
The meeting is expected to be attended by members of the ruling majority, with discussions focusing on issues related to the political agenda and the government’s priorities for the period ahead.
