Prime Minister Edi Rama has responded to questions from France 24 regarding protests against the development project in Zvërnec.
During the interview, Rama said that several external actors are attempting to influence the debate surrounding the project.
According to Rama, these interventions include cyber-related activities linked to Iran, as well as efforts by regional competitors who oppose the project’s development in Albania.
Furthermore, he acknowledged that some concerns come from citizens who hold different views about the project and its future impact.
However, Rama stressed that his government was elected to implement the program it promised to voters, including the Zvërnec development project.
In addition, he pointed to differing public reactions across the country. While protests have taken place in Tirana, he noted that many residents in the Vlora area support the project.
As a result, the debate over the Zvërnec development continues to attract attention both inside and outside Albania.
Meanwhile, the government maintains that the project forms part of its broader vision for economic development and investment in the region.
